Are intentions better than resolutions?

First, a reminder that reflection is crucial to goal (intention) setting, If you missed my December 2024 post on that topic read it here

Now, to answer the question … Yes! I feel Many of us set resolutions impulsively, only to forget their resolution and later feel crummy for not achieving it.
I invite you to try intention setting this year.

Creating intentions helps provides direction, motivation, and clarity.

In Beyond Positive Thinking by Dr. Robert Anthony, he writes that intentions should be specific, personal, positive, and trigger feeling. For example, "It is my intention to learn French so I can enjoy conversations with the locals during my trip to Paris this Summer."

A favorite tradition for visualizing intentions is to create a vision board a powerful tools consisting of collaged imagery, words, and quotes related to your intentions. Use this collage to meditate daily or reflect on occasionally or even absorb passively into your subconscious.

Either route, setting intentions for things you would like to achieve, experience, learn, or transform in 2025 will give you a sense of purpose. It will help you stay inspired and motivated. When we have direction and clarity, we are able to achieve more easily.

Feeling sluggish after the holidays?

A gentle detox can help you revitalize your energy.

If you're like most people, once November rolled around, you might have fallen out of balance. Taking a hiatus from physical activities, sitting and socializing more, enjoying less nutritious but delicious feasts, cozying up on the couch while indulging or worse stressing on holiday planning.

Most of us tend to put on a few extra pounds, even feel exhausted or unmotivated.

If that sounds like you, you may benefit from a gentle detox. Here are a few ideas to support your body's natural detoxification process:

  • Focus on whole foods: Eat whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, veggies, lean protein, and whole grains.
  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water, electrolytes and detox tea to support the body's natural detoxification processes.
  • Avoid Sugar, Alcohol, and Processed food.
  • Increase rest: The body regenerates during rest.

Visit a vitamin shop, my local favorite is Down To Earth Nutrition, and get yourself some supplements, detox tea, or essential oils to help cleanse & restore the body.
