~Next Level Spring Cleaning!  ~

~ MIND ~

Curate Quiet Time For A Clutter-free Mind

When we think of spring cleaning, we think of clearing out closets, the garage, and deep cleaning parts of the home that were a bit neglected through winter, like windows and other outdoor areas.

I'd like to also suggest that you consider a spring cleaning for the mind…

What does that mean? I mean to be open to a whole new level of removing things that you do not need and that do not serve a purpose. I mean to take some time to remove distractions and junk.

Mind junk is usually your "guilty pleasures" that you watch, listen to, or engage in. Think of the vloggers, podcasters, news channels, reality TV that is dramatic, gossipy, shocking, or fear-based.

These types of "programs" do just that; unbeknownst to most people, they are programming you to stress and fear, putting you in a low vibe that is so detrimental to your clarity and wellness, and more.

Maybe you refrain from junk TV, but you are one of those people who have to have music or television on in the background all the time. Even if it's good stuff, you are bombarding your mind with information. Our mind requires periods of silence and calm to restore and regenerate.

This spring, I'd like to offer you the concept of 'de-teching,' a detox for the mind. Simply "unplug" by turning off technology and enjoying the natural sounds of your environment. Some people literally go through a sort of “withdrawal” so I suggest you ease into this. Start by taking a brief 10-minute break and work your way up to an hour. You will see doing this will really help relieve anxiety and stress. It is especially beneficial to do a short break mid-day and a long one just before sleep.

You will be amazed at how well you can concentrate, sleep, and feel overall. If you really enjoy the benefits of these breaks, consider carving out some time daily for this practice.

Feng Shui For Your Body.

While we often think of Feng Shui as the art of arranging our homes for optimal energy flow, consider this: what if
we could apply those same principles of balance, flow, and intention to our to our primary home, our body?

This might be a Spring cleaning of energy you haven't yet considered – an internal Feng Shui that can profoundly impact your well-being.

Let's explore this by looking at three fundamental ways to "Feng Shui" your body:

  • Optimize your internal "qi" or energy flow:
Regular physical activity like walking, yoga, or dancing, deep conscious breathwork, good posture, and gentle stretching all promote flowing "qi" within the body.
This offers the benefits of promoting healthy circulation and preventing stagnation, bringing in fresh energy while releasing stagnant energy, and releasing muscular tension to declutter pathways for a more efficient and vibrant energy flow throughout your physical form.

  • Nourishment: Be mindful of what you put in your body. Nourish yourself with a balanced diet, good hydration, and quality rest and sleep through a consistent sleep schedule and a relaxing bedtime routine. The balance
of these nourishing activities—eating, hydration, and rest—is essential for the flow of energy and bodily functions, providing you with the necessary energy
    and nutrients.

  • Declutter "Physical" Toxins:  Be mindful of what you put on your body (skincare, make up) and in your body (processed foods, excessive alcohol – this is part of nourishment). Choose natural and less toxic options where possible to create a cleaner internal environment.

Take your time getting in the flow of these practices. Really tune in to the positive changes that occur and enjoy those benefits.

~ Soul ~

Spring Clean "Soul Clutter"

Just like physical clutter can weigh down your home, and the things you put into your mind and body can make you sluggish and depleted of energy, any unresolved anger, resentment, and bitterness you accumulate creates a heavy and toxic inner environment. It builds up in your heart and mind and becomes what I call "soul clutter" and can literally block the flow of positive energy, joy, and peace within you.

So, how do we embark on this type of Spring Cleaning?

We do this through forgiveness.

In the most basic description, forgiveness is the letting go
of hurt, anger, painful memories and events to giving space to healing, compassion, and understanding.

Here are a few steps you can apply to get into next level Spring Cleaning:

  • Acknowledge the Hurt: Recognize and your feelings without judgment.
  • Make a Conscious Choice: Decide if you are ready to release the burden of unforgiveness for your own well-being.
  • Understand Forgiveness is for You: This is worth repeating, FORGIVENESS IS FOR YOU. It's about freeing yourself, not necessarily absolving the other person.
  • Process Your Emotions: Allow yourself to feel the anger, sadness, or pain, and then gently let it pass and release. This could be uncomfortable and could take time. (You may benefit from journaling, talking to a spiritual coach, or therapist, and especially prayer).
  • Practice Empathy (if possible): Ok. I have to admit this is one of the hardest parts of the forgiveness process. But do try to put yourself in the other’s place. You are only seeking to understand the other person's perspective not condoning their actions.
  • Be Patient with Yourself: Forgiveness takes practice. It’s okay to experience setbacks. It’s part of the process.

I know that when you get into the practice of forgiveness you will be creating space for joy, peace, and healing will blossom within you. When you let go of the past and focus on the present, your inner load will lighten giving you a renewed sense of freedom
